It is the end of January, and I'm not sure what to do next month, because I am going to be very busy (three different ficathons/challenges all at once) and I won't have time to make icons myself.

Apologies from your mods for getting lost at sea (or getting lost in Christmas).
I hereby declare January to be an Amnesty month. This means that there is no official challenge, but that you are encouraged to create icons fulfilling any of the previous challenges, and to post them here.

Previous challenges can be found at:

Go! Make icons! Have fun!

Due to the wonderful H1N1 and the fact that only two people have made icons for the "Out of Focus" challenge, I won't be able to post a poll until Monday at earliest. Please consider taking the time to enter 1 or more icons. Thank you! :)

Welcome to challenge #2x06, "Out of Focus".

For this challenge, each icon you make must contain a part that is out of focus or blurred. Whether you take pictures that are already out of focus or whether you blur certain parts yourself is completely up to you. It can be background or foreground.

In short:
Due 16th of November, post entries here, don't show them elsewhere.

If you know any good tutorials for this challenge, please post a link.

And please pimp this far and wide!

Also, if you have any ideas for challenges you would like to see, don't hesitate to suggest them in the suggestions post.

Apologies for the supreme lateness of this! Hopefully things will be better next time, as our helpful co-mod [personal profile] yvi will be leading the dance next month. Which is rapidly coming upon us!

There will be a slight delay in closing and collating the current challenge, as I am suffering from computer meltdown (figuratively) and much of my spare time in the next (few?) days will be spent fixing it. I am posting right now from my laptop from an internet hot-spot, so I'm not completely shut off, but...
Please take the next few days as an extension, and enter! That might cheer me up a little.

Due to the fact that
(a) there are only two entrants so far, and
(b) I am still not well
I have decided that Challenge 2x05 will also be the challenge for the month of October. In other words, y'all have two more weeks!
So it is now due on 12th October. I shall update the challenge post accordingly.

My apologies for being so late with this; I haven't been well.

Welcome to challenge #2x05, "Shadows".
For this challenge, each icon you make must contain shadows; drop-shadows, perspective shadows, shadows-on-the-wall; some kind of shadow.

Challenge is now closed!

Hello again, folks. Since the poll on challenge-length was tied, I'm leaving the challenge length at two weeks, because it's more flexible.

Welcome to challenge #2x04, "Viva la Revolution!"
For this challenge, each icon you make must contain an element which is rotated; an image which is rotated, text which is rotated, or both. This does not mean that the icon should be animated, just that it should contain elements which have been rotated at an angle, whether that be a 90-degree angle or some other angle.

This challenge is now closed.
