Okay, let's try this again and see whether anyone still wants to play. I'll try making this an 'easy' one.

Welcome to challenge #2x16, "Frame it!", inspired by a recent round of [community profile] fandom20in20.

For this challenge, each icon must have a very noticable frame around it, at least 5 pixels wide. The color of that frame does not matter, you can also make it look like a picture frame, make it a gradient, or whatever you'd like to.

Welcome to challenge #2x15, "Cartoon Effect".

For this challenge, each icon you make must use some kind of cartoon-ish effects: speech/thought bubbles, line art, or both. The pictures you use shouldn't be from a cartoon, so you need to add these effects.

Hello everyone,

I was going to post the results for challenge 2x14 today, but unfortunately, with so few votes there are too many ties. If you haven't already, please go over to this post and vote - it won't take much time :)

Welcome to challenge #2x13, "We Ain't Square". I hope this is going to encourage a few people to participate :)
For this challenge, each icon you make must not be completely square - it can be circular or have the edges "taken off". What you do with the "taken off" corners is up to you - make them white, black, transparent, however you'd like.

Hey [community profile] icon_style,

since [personal profile] kerravonsen is pretty busy, I am going to be 'taking over' this community - however, I can't do it alone and thus I am looking for someone to share the duties!

It wouldn't be too much work - I'll run September's challenge and the next co-mod could then run October's and so on. Running the challenges mostly involves writing the intro post for each challenge - [personal profile] kerravonsen has thought of quite a few things we could have as challenges, so you wouldn't need to be creative in that direction (though it is certainly not discouraged!) -, after that post, a few reminders need to be put up and of course the voting and the winner posts at the end of each challenge need to be posted.

You really don't need any experience with comm moderation for this, just a bit of time and teh ability to post things on time :)

If you are interested, just send me a PM. Thanks everyone :)

Welcome to challenge #2x13, "Straight Angled". Another easy one for you all!
For this challenge, each icon you make must use straight lines at interesting angles; that is, don't use right-angles, use other angles. This can include effects applied in straight lines (see the Straight Line tutorial below).

For this challenge, each icon you make must be in shades of blue, or dominated by the colour blue.
And if we don't get more than three people entering this time, I give up.

There will be a delay in posting the results; I'm going to a funeral tomorrow, and there will be family stuff in days coming. So no results before the weekend, I'm afraid. Which means that there is time for more than a mere eight people to vote.
