Thank you so much to everyone who voted for my icons! It feels amazing to be appreciated, especially since it was my first time participating in the challenge.

I used PSP 9. For the 'running up that hill' icon, I made the hill with the oil brush (giving it that scratchy look) and used a stock photo of clouds and another stock photo of a bird, set to screen and multiply respectively. I drew the hill's outline with the pen tool and then clicked on the line I drew with text to make it follow the path. Voila! I love how it turned out.

I used the same pen tool/path technique for the 'love love love' icon, drawing it on top of 2 layered light textures by peyton_oxxo @ LJ.
