Thank you, everyone!

I've also revealed the entries in the challenge entry post.

Now, discuss! Did you tear your hair out over trying to think of just one word? What nifty techniques did you use?

(Note that there is NOT going to be a challenge in December, because I expect everyone (including me) is going to be very busy.)

Definitely, I am too verbose. I have, as I said, a tendency to verbally spread myself all over the picture (not easy when it's that size) and find it hard enough to stop at 2-3 words... I thought up several but had to knock them back as 'non-words' (srsly :)

All of mine were fairly simple actually - the 'sexy' just involved negative-ing the picture of Jack, using the negative as the base, then filling the text (pattern overlay) with the original, with very little clean-up needed. The rose was a similar 'negative' the other way round (one of my little programs does negatives in the same colour range, great for this sort of thing). Teddy Alone, of course, depends simply on the gorgeous little original, sometimes (surprisingly often, I find) the trick is to not dress it up.

I loved the other icons in this challenge - a lot of imagination and 'I wish I'd thought of that' moments :)

Did I tear my hair out?? Um, just a little! :) I'm not very good at text at all, I find it hard to get the right font and size so it's readable without dominating the icon, and even the right colour so it doesn't stand out too much, or disappears into the background. And then of course I'm really not that inventive to come up with the right comment, let alone pick just one word! With this I ended up looking for base pictures that screamed one word, and I think that took the longest in the entire process! Most times I wish I was even half as creative as some people - I thought there were some great ideas with text and styles, I find I tend to be quite basic in that respect.

Oh, I spend as long if not longer on the text (I have a folder called 'need text' because quite often it takes ages to come up with anything)
